About Me

I intend for this blog to be an outlet for me to explore my interest in fiction; my love of clichés; my abiding belief that every occasion can be summed up in a song and my devotion to the pursuit of the perfect chocolate.

Given that I intend to write about my life it might help if I tell you something about me.

I grew up on a farm 15 kms outside of Woop Woop (current population 535). I had what seemed to me an unremarkable childhood growing up in the family commune. I left home as soon as practical to extend my life choices beyond that of “spinster daughter”.

I have a vivid memory of my maternal grandmother telling me the way off the farm was to go to University. So that’s what I did.

At the end of three years I discovered a Bachelor of Arts with an extended major in Late Medieval and Early Modern History with minors in Classical Literature and English prepared me for nothing that would assist me to pay the bills.

After I got over the shock I moved to our nation’s capital to do archive management only to discover I was allergic to dust. A quick about face resulted in a 30 year career in Librarianship. My day job is now as an infromation managment and communications specialist. This would easier if i could spell.

I read my first romance novel when I was 12 and have never stopped. I conservatively estimate I have read around 6,500. They have in no way given me an unrealistic expectation of relationships. I have a voracious appetite for books and reading but to the horror of my loved ones my tastes have always erred on the side of prurient.

I joined a chorus (which is different from a choir… apparently) and then I stopped but i am still ambivalent about that. So maybe there will be singing but I’m not sure.

I firmly believe that everything tastes better with butter and that chocolate is the answer.
